How It All Began
I started my shop after a friend of mine suggested I give Etsy a try. She was getting married in November 2011 and I was designing her invitations, RSVP, directions card and accommodations insert.
I graduated from a small town in Missouri and had big dreams for moving out of the place I was born and raised. After graduation in 2010, I moved to Kansas City and hoped to use my new degree to land a job. Well, this was smack dab in the middle of the recession, and it wasn't really working for me! So, I got a job to pay the bills, but still wasn't fully happy. Sure, being in a new place was exciting, but not being able to design full time was not ideal for me!
That brings me back to my friends suggestion of opening a shop on Etsy. I had always created invitations for friends here and there and thought, why not? It will allow me to have a creative outlet and also allow me to interact with people from all over the place!
I am so glad I took her advice to open a shop. I have always been told I have a certain design style, and after playing around with different ideas and things I wanted to create... I found my place. I am truly honored when someone wants to set the tone of their party or special event with one of my designs. It gives me such overwhelming happiness to be able to contribute something that will be remembered by so many people!
I am thankful to have the opportunity to communicate with so many people through Etsy. I love the personal aspect of what I do and if it wasn't for my customers and Etsy, I would be in a very different place in my life!! I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me do what I love to do :)
