Growth of the spirit, growth of the business

PeruPeru is Hugo Rodriguez is craftsman who makes the jewellery using techniques learnt along the journey of life an few part time helpers.

Hugo have met many skilled craftsmen along the way of his life who have shared secrets allowing me to develop his own unique style. Most of his life he spent in Peru and South America he belong to a large family of travelling "artesanos", or craftsmen.

For many years Hugo has worked with a group of boys and young men in his "barrio" or district, of Lima, Peru. They would help him prepare the materials for his jewellery and in return he would feed them and give them a place to be which was off the streets. He now goes back for a couple of months each year and they continue to help out. He is now able to pay them and has someone soldering items for him. We have also been able to employ two members of his family to make bracelets and knit Alpaca wool items, as well as another family of knitters in Pisac near Cusco in the Sacred Valley of the Peruvian Andes.
