Wading through life with pit bulls by my side 🤍
I am a workaholic turned stay-at-home, homeschooling mom of two girls, ages 10 and 8. My pit bull, Bama, is the light of my life. Watching him interact with my kids, as well as other family members and strangers, makes me sad and angry about the stigma surrounding them. Dogs, whether pit bulls, labs, or poodles, are not born evil or angry. It's all in their upbringing. My goal is to spread joy and happiness to the pit bull-loving community, as well as raise money for a local dog rescue. My hope is that one day, there will be no such thing as BSL (breed-specific legislation) and that pit bulls can get the love and respect that they so deserve 💙.
UPDATE: We got Bama a little sister. They look like Simba and Nala wrestling in slow motion. Bama tugs on Noelle's ears, probably because she can't decide if she wants them to flop or not, and Noelle tugs on Bama's excess skin. But, they have also been known to reenact the spaghetti scene from Lady and the Tramp and tend to sleep like one big Yin & Yang sign 😍.
ANOTHER UPDATE: We rescued a senior dog, Brindie (aka Brindle Lee), from Florida. Her owner was no longer able to care for her after the passing of her husband, so we said "let her live out the remainder of her life with us." Brindie had a rough start to life. She was hooked outside of a rescue in a severe thunderstorm, and had to wait multiple days for someone to realize she was there and bring her inside. No need to worry, though. She is currently living out her best life. She has free reign over the house and able to sleep wherever she feels comfortable, whether it be on the floor, one of her three beds, or my spot on the couch. She doesn't do well with stairs, so every once in a while, my husband will carry her up to our room where she can have a sleep-over and take in all the Daddy snuggles. She is extremely loved and will never have to wonder if she's good enough again.
