Mijn vader gaf me als kind mijn eerste boek met origami - met een sterke artistieke inslag en veel tijd. Hij had me meegenomen naar het Museum of Natural History in NYC en daar zagen we de beroemde Origami-kerstboom met stukken van over de hele wereld en ik was gefascineerd.

Vele jaren later, nadat dat artistieke kind meedogenloos elk denkbaar medium nastreefde, van olieverfschilderen tot filmmaken, nam ze origami weer op om een mobiel te maken voor een vriend die haar eerste kind verwachtte. "Deze moet je verkopen!" was haar stellige mening toen ze weer op adem kwam.

En hier zijn we vandaag allebei :) Ik ben nog steeds origami aan het maken en misschien ben je geïnteresseerd in een voor je huis of een cadeau. Klanten hebben ze gekocht voor allerlei gelegenheden en schrijven me van tijd tot tijd om me te vertellen over hun bestemming. Van eerste huwelijksjubilea (die "papieren" hint hints zijn) tot huisverwarmende geschenken, yogastudio's, pediatrische kantoren en bejaardentehuizen ... Ik ben gezegend om te horen dat mijn ambacht / werk wordt genoten en vrede brengt aan mensen over de hele wereld. De meesten migreren naar kinderdagverblijven en het is een heel speciale eer om iets te maken voor zo'n kostbaar doel, om te denken aan mijn werk dat zachtjes boven de volgende generatie kleintjes zweeft - waardoor ze glimlachen, slapen en misschien dromen van avonturen en landen die ze op een dag zullen zien.

Ik ben erg enthousiast om een nieuwe reeks schattige tijdschriften aan te kondigen ... Elk bedekt met vintage reisboeken of natuurgidsen en gebonden met een coördinerend grosgrain lint.

Ook zal ik binnenkort een nieuwe doorlopende collectie van unieke collage wandkleden toevoegen, voornamelijk uit vintage kinderboeken, kookboeken en geografische boeken. Dus stop vaak terug of nog beter... volg Gin & Rummy online om al het aankomende nieuws te volgen!

My dad gave me my first book of origami as a child – with a strong artistic streak and a lot of time. He had taken me to the Museum of Natural History in NYC and there we saw the famous Origami Christmas Tree with pieces from all around the world and I was fascinated.

Many years later, after that artistic child relentlessly pursued every conceivable medium from oil painting to film making, she took up origami again to fashion a mobile for a friend expecting her first child. "You should sell these!" was her firm opinion once she caught her breath again.

And here we both are today :) I'm still making origami and perhaps you are interested in one for your home or a gift. Customers have purchased them for all sorts of occasions and from time to time write to me to tell me of their destination. From first wedding anniversaries (which are "paper" hint hint) to house warming gifts, yoga studios, pediatric offices and retirement homes... I've been blessed to hear my craft/work being enjoyed and bringing peace to people all around the world. Most migrate to nurseries and it is a very special honor to create something for so precious a purpose, to think of my work floating softly above the next generation of little ones – making them smile, sleep and maybe dream of adventures and lands they will one day see.

I am very excited to announce a new series of adorable journals... Each covered in vintage travel books or nature guides and bound with a coordinating grosgrain ribbon.
