Eu sempre fui um intrometido criativo em várias formações artísticas. A arte me dá um espaço seguro para ser livre, permitindo-me mostrar minhas inseguranças e compartilhar com o mundo. Aprecio a arte que crio, pois é um lembrete para mim mesmo de que também sou uma OBRA-PRIMA! Eu uso principalmente e outros materiais de arte, como tecido, tinta inchada, brilhos e folhas para criar textura e adicionar brilhos para dar vida às minhas peças de arte. Estou inspirada a continuar a criar para a garotinha negra que não entende sua beleza, lutando para abraçar seus cachos encaracolados que desafiam a gravidade e sua pele que foi beijada pelo sol. Para a menininha negra, que agora é mulher e ainda carrega aquela dúvida no fundo da mente toda vez que entra na sala. Quero ser aquele lembrete de que, como uma garota de pele morena, VOCÊ é perfeita do jeito que é. A sociedade tem uma maneira de fazer você diminuir sua luz quando você realmente brilha mais do que qualquer padrão de beleza que eles já estabeleceram!

I’ve have always been a creative dabbling in various artistic backgrounds. Art gives me a safe space to be free, allowing me to showcase my insecurities and share with the world. I appreciate the artwork I create as it is a reminder to myself that I too am a MASTERPIECE! I use mostly and other art materials, such as fabric, puffy paint, glitters and foils to create texture and add sparkles to bring my art pieces to life. I am inspired to continue to create for the little Black girl who doesn’t understand her beauty, struggling to embrace her coiled curls that defy gravity and her skin that has been kissed by sun. For the little Black girl, who is now a woman and still hold that doubt in her mind in the back of her mind every time she enters of room. I want to be that reminder that as a brown skin girl YOU are perfect just the way you are. Society has a way of making you dim your light when you really shine brighter than any beauty standards they’ve ever set!
