I first learned to make a pot in the student union of the University of Florida. Since then I have been addicted to the making, collecting and teaching of anything clay.

Initially I studied, practiced and studied some more - history of clay, how to make xyz in clay, etc. I completed the clay courses at the University of Florida and moved on to work/study at Eastern Kentucky University, Penland School of Art and Craft, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Cleveland Institute of Art, Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and the University of Miami. While in Edinboro I set up my business, Pincu Pottery.

Outdoor craft fairs and few galleries were my initial steps into selling my wares.

In 2006 my husband and I moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina. He is the local librarian and I am the local potter. I took a teaching job at the local community college and quickly fell in love with teaching pottery to others. Since then I have taught at the college and set up my own shop for teaching locals and tourists. In 2010 I was juried into the prestigious Craft Guild of the Southern Highlands and that was a HUGE event in my pottery career. The other was when I was asked to teach at the John C. Campbell Folk School. Since then I have had work published in several books. With lots of hard work, my pottery career is steaming along and I am SO GRATEFUL to my family, friends and customers for their continued support!

When I am not in the studio, I love taking in the beautiful mountain scenery with my husband and dog. We hike a ton. I have also taken up whitewater kayaking. Some evenings you may find me knitting or practicing the upright bass to accompany my husband on banjo.
