My story as a seamstress is the tale of my family tradition. Years ago my mother converted great grandmother’s wonderful cabinet of curiosities into her crafting and sewing stash. Mother lined the cabinet with red gingham check and filled it with bits of her exquisite doll lace, quilt squares, her mother’s crochet, my great grandmother’s collection of odd buttons and a piece of fabric and pearls from the wedding dress she made for me. I have added some funky 1970’s shoe laces, a stuffed penguin that lost his beak and many other treasures from my life journey.

One of my ancestors was the personal tailor of General Robert E. Lee. Inherited scrapes of antique gilded lace that was made into ball gowns and beautifully embellished drapery fabric are carefully displayed around my home.

Members of my family have always used their hands to sew, craft, mend, cook, garden and care for loved ones. I don’t remember a family home that did not contain a well used sewing machine and all the needles, pins, thread and trims that come with it. My great grandmother’s old oak cabinet treadle machine and my mother’s 1950 black and gold Singer add a touch of history to my collection of modern sewing machines and sergers.

I have sewn and crafted since I can remember. That is my legacy to my daughter and it is my gift to each you as buyers of my hand sewn, hand-crafted products.

I have recently won several blue ribbons at the Appalachian State Fair for my children's clothing. My designs have also been featured in several fashion magazines including Model's Life and TFBM.
