Pinkkis - How it All Began
I started Pinkkis eons ago so I could sell my handmade soap, pouches, jewelry and more. But like most dreams, it had to take a back to reality: kids, desk job, doll collections.
And then everything changed when I married a wild American writer who came all the way to Finland to live amongst the icicles and polar bears. Being a typical artist-type, he had no money but had numerous holes in his pants, which I was forced to mend for him.
I then remembered that I had training as both a seamstress and in business, so after fixing his pants (did I mention that it's cold here?), I realized again that this was my dream: to make stuff, then sell it. If I'm not chopping up dolls, sewing pouches from start to finish, or searching through bins of flea market junk for the perfect find, then I'm not happy. If I'm not creating, I might as well be dead.
So here I am, selling my products around the world, hoping that one day it would be enough to support me financially. I create and sell things that I would like to have, then do my best not to cry when it comes time to mail them to their new owners.
Pinkkis is me, but it's also you. It makes me happy when you have a cute, fun and unique piece of jewelry or pouch, crafted by hand in Finland. So please make yourself and me happy and buy something today!
