Great pattern, very easy to follow! My daughter and I love our dresses!

I have made this dress 3 times in different fabrics now & my daughter looks so cute! The YouTube video is so detailed and thorough , perfect for a beginner but the written directions are also very thorough. Not once during making this dress did I get confused! I think it’s a perfect pattern for a confident beginner & beyond. I can’t wait to make the adult version next.

The instructions are well written and the pattern is super easy. According to the size chart I should fit easily in a 6, so I made a 6, but it was way to small. I managed to get it wearable but the bust area is very flat, I really wish there was darts. I do not have big "girls" but it is still being squished. Still a cute dress !

I’ve now made two of these, each with different modifications to just play a bit. I used Anna Maria Horner Garden variety for both shirts. The purple shirt and added elastic at the waist on the first version that I did, and for the blue I modified the yoke to be a single piece with pintucks. Both went together really fast (well, except adding those pintucks) and easily. Instructions are clear and easy to understand. I’m sure this will be a regular pattern.

I haven’t made this yet, but I am very soon. I’m 71 and have been sewing for 61 years—my mother was a home-ec teacher. I’ve looked over the pattern, and it looks great with very clear instructions and great diagrams.

Pattern sizing was a little tricky so i had to make a few post-production tweaks to better fit my daughter. But otherwise easy to follow and assemble. I did consult YouTube videos for the under-arm assembly piece. Turned out great and excited to make myself one of these as well.
