What is Pitoti?
Cuando buscaba un nombre para mi negocio pensé en cómo a lo largo de la historia la humanidad siempre ha tenido la necesidad de decorar su entorno utilizando color, textura y diferentes materiales. ¿Cuándo y dónde comenzó? Una pequeña búsqueda me llevó a las tallas de piedra de Val Camonica, Italia. Los camunni, residentes del valle durante la época romana, llamaron a las figuras talladas en piedra "Pitoti", que significa "marioneta". Cuando leí eso, supe que encontré el nombre perfecto para lo que me encanta hacer.
¿Quién soy?
Mi nombre es Dana. Vivo en Tel Aviv, Israel, con mi esposo y mis gemelas. Estudié diseño textil en el Shenkar College of Engineering & Design (Ramat Gan, Israel) y he diseñado ropa de cama para varias empresas de textiles para el hogar. En estos días, mi trabajo de diseño está inspirado e influenciado principalmente por mis hijos. De hecho, el primer arte mural que he hecho fue creado porque quería hacer de su dormitorio un lugar lo más feliz y colorido posible. Siempre busco formas de pasar tiempo de calidad con mis hijas y vincularme con ellas a través de artes y manualidades. Espero poder hacer lo mismo por ti aquí ♥

When I was looking for a name for my business I thought of how throughout history humankind have always had the need to decorate their environment using color, texture and different materials. When and where did it begin? A little search brought me to the stone carvings of Val Camonica, Italy. The camunni, residents of the valley during the Roman period, called the figures carved in stone “Pitoti”, meaning "puppet". When I read that, I knew I found the perfect name for what I love to do.
Who am I?
My name is Dana. I live in Tel Aviv, Israel with my husband and twin girls. I studied textile design at the Shenkar College of Engineering & Design (Ramat Gan, Israel) and have designed bed linens for various home-textile companies. These days my design work is primarily inspired and influenced by my kids. In fact, the very first wall art I have made was created because I wanted to make their bedroom as happy and colorful a place as possible. I always look for ways to spend quality time with my girls and bonding with them through arts and crafts. I hope I can do the same for you here ♥
