Where passion meets artistic expression
Who knew that picking up a pencil would get me here?
The Pixel Fabi brand started as a personal project on social media to document my self-taught journey of learning how to draw. At the time, I've been writing stories on my computer and have always wanted to bring them to life by turning those stories into visual media like my favorite webcomic and manga creators.
I knew starting to learn to draw from scratch meant posting work that showed my lack of skill but I knew, with time, I had to get at least a little better. As I kept posting, the progress slowly started to show!
And one day, the unexpected happened.
A video I posted on social media went viral! I was still a beginner artist then so I was not prepared for this moment. People wanted more fan art and made multiple requests. It was overwhelming at first but I was excited! There are actually a lot of people out there who have the same interests as me and who actually saw potential in my work!
I started posting more videos and interacting with my new supporters. It felt like we were building a little community! I continued to practice and post until I started getting requests from people who wanted to buy my art! Something I couldn't even imagine, especially since I wasn't at the level I wanted to be at yet.
This is how the Pixel Fabi Art shop was born.
The learning journey is still ongoing and I've only fallen more in love with the process and the community surrounding it. Having this shop has taught me how to become more creative in how I express my work and challenged me to think outside of the box with how I could share that with the world.
I've turned my art into stickers, prints, keychains and wallets. I've been experimenting with other forms of artistic expression and now I make custom rugs! There is still so much more I want to achieve and I haven't forgotten my webcomic dream, in fact, I'm working towards running this little business full time so I can focus on all of the things I want to accomplish!
