A Remake the Old (RMTO), do nuova vita a oggetti vecchi e usati attraverso l'upcycling e il ricamo a mano. Ricamando una varietà di disegni su indumenti usati delicatamente e amati, creo per te articoli sostenibili e unici che sono davvero unici nel loro genere! Da piccola mia nonna ha insegnato a me e a mia sorella a fare il punto croce. Mi piaceva creare e ricamare piccoli motivi. Crescendo ho smesso di cucire e ho iniziato ad dedicarmi ad altri hobby. Avanzando rapidamente fino al 2022, mi sono interessato a imparare il ricamo. Mia cognata ricamava bellissimi motivi botanici sui suoi jeans e io volevo imparare a fare lo stesso. Mia nonna, cucitrice da sempre, era così emozionata che per il mio compleanno mi ha regalato tutto il necessario per iniziare a ricamare! L'inverno successivo ho iniziato a ricamare regali per la famiglia e gli amici su indumenti usati. Perché gli indumenti usati? Ho sempre amato la conservazione e l'idea di creare qualcosa di nuovo partendo da qualcosa di vecchio. Mio marito, da sempre imprenditore, mi ha incoraggiato a trasformarlo in un business. Nella primavera del 2023 è iniziato Remake the Old!
At Remake the Old (RMTO), I give old and used items new life through upcycling and hand embroidery. By embroidering a variety of designs onto gently used, preloved clothing, I create sustainable, unique items for you that are truly one-of-a-kind! I hope these items bring joy to you and your family and friends!
As a child, my grandmother taught my sister and me to cross-stitch. I used to love creating and stitching little patterns. As I got older, I dropped off stitching and took up other hobbies. Fast forward to 2022, I became interested in learning embroidery. My sister-in-law would embroider beautiful, botanical patterns on her jeans, and I wanted to learn to do the same. My grandmother, a life-time stitcher, was so excited that for my birthday she bought me everything I needed to get started with embroidery! The following winter, I started embroidering gifts for family and friends onto used clothing. Why used clothing? I have always loved conserving and the idea of creating something new out of something old. My husband, ever the entrepreneur, encouraged me that I could turn this into a business. In the spring of 2023, Remake the Old began!
