Mi viaje con la fotografía comenzó en la escuela secundaria. Tomar esa primera clase de fotografía me hizo descubrir una parte de mí que no sabía que existía. Aunque no tenía un don natural para el arte tradicional ni para la autoexpresión, la fotografía cambió eso, me ayudó a ver el mundo de una manera nueva y me permitió comunicarme sin palabras.
Durante años me dije a mí misma que la fotografía era solo un pasatiempo, pero en el fondo siempre supe que era más que eso.
La fotografía es como una extensión de mí misma. No recuerdo un momento en el que no estuviera detrás del lente, buscando belleza en momentos simples y fugaces que, de otro modo, podrían haberse desvanecido en el fondo de la vida cotidiana. Ya sea que me haya dedicado a ella profesionalmente o personalmente, la fotografía siempre ha sido parte de mí.
Crear 1885 Atelier y tener mi propio cuarto oscuro y taller de impresión es un sueño hecho realidad. Cada impresión que aparece aquí es una parte de mi recorrido y espero que aporte tanta belleza e inspiración a tu espacio como lo hizo con el mío.

Hi, I’m Emily, and I’m so glad you’re here.
My journey with photography started back in high school. Taking that first photography class felt like unlocking a part of myself I didn’t know existed. Though I wasn’t naturally gifted in traditional art or self-expression, photography changed that, helping me see the world in a new way and allowing me to communicate without words.
For years, I told myself photography was just a hobby. But deep down, I always knew it was more than that.
Photography feels like an extension of myself.I can’t remember a time I wasn’t behind the lens, finding beauty in simple, fleeting moments that might have otherwise faded away into the background of everyday life. Whether I pursued it professionally or personally, photography has always been part of me.
Creating 1885 Atelier and having my own darkroom and print shop is a dream come true. Each print here is a piece of my journey, and I hope it brings as much beauty and inspiration to your space as it has to mine.
