Announcement    Welcome! My name is Erica, and I'm a professional costume designer and dancer working in New York City. I have been dancing for 20 years, and during this time have developed a passion for stitching; my first leotards were built for my own long torso and after many requests from friends, I developed more standardized ready-to-wear patterns. The majority of my pieces are built from recycled fabrics that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill, which means that they are typically one- or two-of-a-kind, and often can't be duplicated. Everything that you see here was built by me and only me! I am currently not accepting custom orders, but feel free to browse what I have ready-to-wear. Thanks for stopping by!

    Dance Costuming, Art, and Headpieces

Pointe Creations began in 2004 as a name under which artist Erica Johnston designed pointe shoe artwork for local auctions to benefit the academy of dance where she trained growing up. It has since evolved into a wide-ranging variety of dance related costume design. After graduating with her BFA in Dance Performance from Butler University in 2014, Erica chased her dreams to New York City. She currently resides in Manhattan and has danced for two seasons with the Victory Dance Project. She frequently designs and stitches for the Ailey School and Marymount Manhattan College. Additional wardrobe, stitching, and/or design credits include: Ailey II, Mook Dance Company, Jose Limon, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Philadanco, Barnard College, Jessica Lang Dance, and ABT's Make a Ballet.
