How my shop name came to be.
My love of crochet started many years ago, learning to stitch while watching tv with my grandmother. I wrote my first crochet pattern in 2015, my keyhole scarf pattern. Since then I've published over 50 patterns, all beginner friendly, clear to understand and easy to complete. I love sharing the craft with others through my youtube channel and designing simple, easy to understand patterns. I have found a gem of a tech editor and have my patterns tech edited and tested to ensure a frustration free crocheting experience.
Fast forward a few years and my love for all things yarn continued to grow. In 2019 I bought my first knitting machine and have been hooked ever since! My favorite thing to make is soft, plush baby items for your little one. My merino baby hats have become my signature item at Pont Neuf Studio. They're an essential for any new mom and make the sweetest go to baby shower gift.
My shop is named after the street in France called Rue Pont Neuf. It translates into "New Bridge Street." This is where St. Zelie Martin lived. She lived an extraordinary life. Along with being a wife and mother to many small children, she learned the craft of Pont d'Alencon lace making. She started a lace making business in the late 1800s, which grew to employ 15 women. Because of her, I thought Pont Neuf Studio would be a great, inspiring name.
