Welcome to PoppyCod! I was born and raised in Newfoundland, and that’s where the inspiration for the name PoppyCod comes from. In Newfoundland, “Poppy” is a common and affectionate way for children to refer to their grandfather. The word “cod” is also often used as a term of endearment, especially for kids. My grandfather used to call us grandkids “cod,” and over time, my cousin began calling him PoppyCod. I have not lived in Newfoundland for quite a few years but the name PoppyCod always brings me back and reminds me of family and my childhood.
Each of these bags is a labor of love, meticulously crafted one at a time in my cozy home studio. I love combining the timeless elegance of leather with the vibrant textures of carefully selected fabrics. Every piece tells a story of quality, craftsmanship, and individuality. Every bag is thoughtfully designed to be as practical as it is beautiful, with attention to detail in every stitch.

When seller realized my daughter also ordered the same bag as a gift for me she discreetly ensured only one bag was purchased and sent. A wonderful surprise to open on Christmas morning while I was still waiting for the bag I “ordered” for myself to come in the mail.
