Our vision is to create a sustainable platform through which our family, and close-knit community members, can share our diverse talents and passions.
Presents of Mind Design was launched in 2016 as a collaborative, creative outlet for our family and close-knit artistic community. My brother Alex, sister-in-law Brooke, and I (the three founding members) live and create in our Rocky Mountain hometown of Missoula, MT. Our family members share a fierce independence, sometimes obsessive attention to detail, and resolute drive to create. Missoula’s vibrant art and music community has provided many opportunities for our family and friends to collaborate and develop a diverse set of skills over the years; in my case, it also served as base camp for over a decade of far-flung adventures. After I moved back to Montana at the end of 2015 (more or less permanently), Brooke, Alex and I brainstormed about how we could weave our collective experiences and skills together into another collaborative project. Hence, Presents of Mind Design was born as an Etsy shop at the beginning of 2016.
Our vision for this project is to facilitate a sustainable platform through which we can express and share our diverse talents and passions. We produce high quality beaded, printed, screen printed, embroidered, sublimated, sculpted, and laser-cut items, as well as the Dr. Smith botanical skincare product line developed by our mom (excluding pain relieving balms that include hemp extract, which Etsy does not allow). In addition to ad hoc contributions—pieces that highlight our individual skills, aesthetics, and preferred media—our cooperative work often centers around a common theme, interest, or event. From humble family beginnings, we have gradually invited other community members to participate in these projects and themes, drawing upon the considerable talent pool and creative spirit of our small mountain town. We hope you will enjoy our mindful presents as much as we enjoy creating them!
