Hello fellow book nerds!
I like a lot of books. No, seriously, like a lot of books. If you’re looking at this shop, I’m guessing you do to.
Cool. Let’s be friends.
Now that we’re friends, I should probably tell you a little more about myself and how Pretty Bookish came to be. My name is Kristina and I’ve been bookish for as long as I can remember. The bigger the pile of books, the better. Libraries and bookstores are my happy places. If I could go back in time (where’s the TARDIS when you need it?) and tell the younger version of myself about e-readers, it would have blown my mind. I would also probably be mad at my future self for “destroying” books.
Let me explain.
Pretty Bookish only repurposes books that are old, damaged, unreadable, and unwanted. If books that are still in good condition come into my possession, I donate them so that they can continue to be enjoyed.
In 2015 I formed Pretty Bookish. It all started with a box of old books. The idea of throwing out these books that couldn’t even be donated made me sad, so a new idea was born. I decided to give these discarded books a new life by turning them into pretty handmade products so that these pages can continue to be adored by readers. Sounds like a win-win to me!
When I’m not being bookish, you can find me hanging out with my husband and two adorable and hilarious sons. I’m learning to embrace being a hockey mom and trying not to become a cat lady. I work as a virtual assistant, dabble in photography, drink too much chai tea, and make lots of bad puns, always with a cat (or 2) by my side.
I love to make stuff and am forever grateful whenever someone likes my work enough to compliment or purchase it. I love the opportunity to nerd out with other book lovers, so let's chat!
