The story of Pretty and Personalised ...
I have loved crafting from an early age and was never happier than when I was surrounded with sequins, pipe cleaners and copious amounts of glue! I married my gorgeous husband in 2008 and being busy parents of four year old triplets, we wanted to keep wedding costs as low as possible. I made a lot of my own decorations, including wedding invites, table numbers and placecard settings and painted teracotta flower pots to hold my favourite flowers, orchids, for the tables. Soon after the wedding, I had the idea of painting and personalising flower pots to sell, and added a small range of hand engraved plaques and photo frames. I was working night shifts as a Healthcare Assistant at my local hospital at the same time, and as my business picked up, I was able to cut down my night shifts and eventually stop all together and work full time on my business. I love the flexibility that being my own boss provides and even though my boys are older now (14!) it is still wonderful to be on hand for them during the school holidays etc. 3 years ago we converted a loft space we had above our garage into a craft room for me (I was previously working in a spare bedroom as my boys shared a bedroom for a long time). As soon as they were 11, my husband and I decided it was time that they had their own bedrooms, so we created my loft room and my boys had their much longed for bedroom each! My room is an absolute pleasure to work in with two fabulous velux windows so it is so light and bright and loads of storage for my products! I do hope you have enjoyed reading my story!
