Our story!
The inspiring spirit for Princess Approved originated in Riviera Maya, Mexico, where the owner, Tammy LaPorte, celebrated her destination wedding. With a desire to have a colorful and festive décor that would be both convenient for travel as well as (at the urging of her future husband) affordable, she taught herself how to make elegant tissue paper flowers and appetizer picks – and then set out to design a vibrant atmosphere for her rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour, and wedding reception. The use of handmade tissue paper flowers resulted in a look so striking that each event had people talking – and not just about the bride and groom!
All that talk about her décor planted a seed…which grew into – you guessed it – flowers! Using the skills acquired in the year that followed, in which she perfected the art of creating elegant, crisp folds in the tissue paper and discovered the best approach to create floral pieces, Princess Approved then opened its doors to add color and exceptional style to a variety of occasions – weddings, birthday parties, bridal and baby showers, luncheons – any event that calls for unique, festive, and affordable décor.
