Sharing Grandpa's Hobby
Hello, my name is Jessica.
When I was growing up, my grandparents had a loom. They tought me not only how to make rugs, but also how to warp the loom, cut and sew the fabric strips together, and even sew hems.
Every summer when I went to visit I would spend countless hours creating unique household objects while listening to the radio. I loved the proccess of putting all the pieces together to make finished products ready to use or sell. I even started to teach my siblings, cousins, and friends how to use the loom.
A few years later I found a local farmer's market and began selling them. It was very gratifying to see all my designs and hard work appreciated by others. The extra income was nice too.
That market's attendence died down so much that they closed. I wasn't able to find another place to sell, so my stash accumulated and lay dormant.
Then my grandparents decided to try to sell the loom, so I called them and they gave it to me. I knew that I had to find somewhere to sell my products, as I would now begin making more. That's when I found Etsy.
And now I spend my time taking pictures and writing descriptions, hoping to reach more people, allowing them to appreciate the quality of my work.
