Grandma's Love in Every Stitch
After learning how to quilt, I started making them for my family and friends. After a couple of years, people started asking if I could make something for them. Baby quilts at first, but it grew into all sizes. I've made around 200 quilts in the last few years. I just love the process and the specialness a quilt provides. I learned to free motion quilt and that is how my quilts are made. My domestic brother machine and designing as I go. I know a computerized machine exists, but I truly enjoy the blank canvas in front of me and creating it with my own hands.
I live in a senior community and call my apartment my sweat shop. I sew every day and it makes me happy and is great therapy!
I offer two types of quilts.
Grandma’s Cozy Quilts
Cozy quilts have been my standard and are made with cotton on top, 100% cotton batting and have a soft, heavier backing like minky or short pile fur. These are perfect for cold weather……like here in Minnesota.
Grandmas's Gentle Weight Quilts
Gentle Weight Quilts use cotton on top and a poly batting in the center. It’s not as heavy as cotton batting but gives some substance and survives wash after wash! The backing is cotton, brushed poly (very much like microfiber……….soft and light) or gauze, which is light, airy, and 100% cotton. These quilts are meant for warmer weather climates or summer.
