The Meaning Behind the Name: Purple Finch
The Finch: Known to the Native American People of the North as a bird of happiness. Their brilliant variety of colors is an omen of high energy and bright days on the horizon.
Symbolic Meaning of the Finch: Joy, Simplicity, Variety, Diversity, Appreciation, Happiness, High Energy, and Honoring Resources
The Color Purple: Purple is known to stimulate imagination and bring peace of mind. It combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red, and is often associated with ambition, inspiration, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, and independence.
The Purple Finch brand developed out of a want for unique products that truly represented my own personal styles, passions, and designs. We quickly grew into a small operation allowing friends and family to come together to produce beautiful handmade products from the heart. I partnered with my sister (a fashion and graphic designer) to combine our creative talents and create a family owned and operated company. Our goal is to share our products with the world in hopes that they will bring as much love, beauty, and happiness as they have brought us in creating them.
I am a true bohemian at heart. I draw inspiration from everything around me! I've always admired Native American art and design, and this is one of the most prevalent inspirations throughout my work. As for my sister, she leans toward the more vintage inspirations. She brings a more feminine touch to the brand, and is responsible for designing our beautiful Flower Maiden Dreadlock Extensions.
Fun Fact: Steven Tyler, of Aerosmith, was one of the major influences/inspirations behind our hair extensions!
Peace & Love
