***** Until further notice, we officially are unable to make our signature soaps and body products*******
It breaks my heart to spell it out loud cause I've held out so much hope in getting sales turned around the past few years since Covid took hold of the world. i miss soap making dearly. It honestly feels like a part of me has died and I haven't had much space and clarity to grieve for it. My business got picked apart one little tiny component at a time when the pandemic started, and along with the bits and pieces of my business chip off and drift away , bits and pieces of me drifted away too until I felt like there was too much that had drifted away out of my control and trying to keep working against the tide, I had to start the process of letting go. It's been rough but every day brings another grain of clarity to it.
I still hang onto hope that one day soon the economy will magically just pick back up , the wars will end, and everyone can live in peace together! And with that glimmer of hope, I also wish for things at the very least get better enough for me to be able to reinvest back into reviving what was once Purring Buddha. Some of you are aware of how much costs have skyrocked over the past severak years, but for a lot of small businesses, that means they can no longer afford to keep purshing forward. When your cost of shelter increases over 2.5x without choice , in less than a decade, and the cost of all your other basic living exepenses have increased by about the same rate as housing, and your business supplies have increased on average around the same rate, and you were barely scraping by before, and then throw in some new tarrifs that are highly unpredictable, and new supply chain issues, you've reached an end or pause to one story to begin another that was left behind a long long time ago.
Out of the sheer need for survival and meeting basic needs, I ended up selling most of my personal jewelry in early 2024 along with some family heirlooms. In the prcess, I ended up starting a second brand under the Purring Buddha name, for jewelry only, called Helias House.
Helias House so far has included my own handmade jewelry, some estate finds, gently pre owned jewelry, new, deadstock, vintage deadstock, and more. Most metals are 925 sterling silver, a little solid gold, a tinsy bit of stainless steel , and some other fun random finds. My first love that led me to crystals, was my love of colored gemstones since I was age 5.
Playing gemstone detective and bringing joy to others with a piece I've sourced, and put some time and love into finding a new home has brought some healing to me, as well as some income. It's also reminded me of how I wanted to go to gemology school to be a colored gemstone expert since I was in my teens. Maybe one day I can make that happen or maybe one day I'll be making soaps again!
Until that day comes, I am open to talking to other entrepreneurs and businesses about purchasing the brand, formulas, possibly supplies and equipment, or anything that would benefit all parties involved.
****to be continued*******
We make artisan body products with a "higher consciousness" using organic, natural, fair trade, palm oil free, cruelty free, non gmo, vegan , vegan friendly, eco-friendly and locally sourced ingredients.
Part of our mission with Purring Buddha is to support cat and animal rescue efforts whenever possible. Our goal is to be able to regularly contribute financial donations from a portion of our profits and donate products for rescue fundraisers and encourage adoption, rescue and fostering.
******Please note that in the warmer months of the year some products may melt during the shipping process. The body scrubs have organic coconut and shea butter in them which makes them more of a solid or thick consistency when stored below room temperature. When the weather gets warmer , the coconut and shea can melt. Never fear though! This is normal and natural because we haven't added anything artificial to this formula. Carefully inspect your package when it arrives and don't open the scrub if it looks like it's too liquid and warm. Simply place the jar in a cool place like your refrigerator for a couple hours then carefully open your jar , stir and mix up the contents inside before you start using it and you're good to go! ************
**** And for the body butters, this is a product I normally have to take off the website in the summer as they will not fair well in the heat because they are all natural and mostly organic butters. Just as a stick of butter will melt in the heat, the buddha butters are designed to melt on skin , which means they melt in heat. If they are heated to much during shipping, they can turn into a liquid state. You can place it in the fridge or freezer but a bit of attention will be required to get it back to it's intended state. You'll need to take the jar out of cooling every 15-30 minutes , gently stir and mix, place it back into cooling then repeat until it's solidified again. If this isn't done then the mixture can be inconsistent and the shea butter can produce a bit of a grainy texture which is a normal occurrence of shea butter. I'm currently looking at some cooling pack options to ship them with but it will most likely increase the cost of shipping a bit. Please don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions***************************************
Right now on our product list we have Soaps, Body Butters, Lip Balms, shower steamers, Bath Bombs and body Scrubs. Later on we will be adding Bath Soaks, Massage Oils and other bath and body products.
