Quality Time Stained Glass...From Hobby to Business in Less than a Year

QTSG started as a hobby, but quickly took on a life of its own. After I made the decision to try doing stained glass, I ordered some equipment and purchased a few sheets of glass to get started. My mom stopped over to visit and asked what all of the stuff was for. I told her that I decided to try my hand in the art of stained glass. She immediately wanted to be a part of it. From that moment forward, we have learned together, designed together, and created together. And we discovered something else...we REALLY enjoyed doing it!
We quickly discovered that there was a demand for what we were making. This fueled us even more. Word spread about what we were doing, and people were taking an interest. Right about then we started receiving requests to do craft shows and participate in fairs, as well as doing stained glass repairs. And I knew I wanted to start an Etsy store. So we decided it was time to officially become a small business.
Our business name was pretty much a no-brainer for me. Because I had held a full-time job for the previous 15 years, I didn't have alot of extra time to hang out with my mom. So, after being laid off, mom and I started doing stained glass and spending alot of time together....QUALITY time. And so Quality Time Stained Glass was born.
I love creating new designs and patterns, as well as visualizing what colors and textures should be included in it. Mom really enjoys picking out just the right colors of glass for the pieces as well. We usually think along the same lines, but if our opinions differ, then the solution is simple...we make more than one!
Each and every piece is meticulously handcrafted by me and my mom...we're spending quality time together making beautiful pieces of art for you!
