Crecí en Steamboat Springs, CO en un rancho a las afueras de la ciudad. Mi obsesión por la turquesa comenzó mientras estaba en la universidad. Comencé a hacer joyas y venderlas por algunos ingresos adicionales. Pasé muchos fines de semana en mercados de agricultores, ferias comerciales, haciendo todo lo posible para impulsar mi trabajo. Todo el tiempo deseaba poder agregar mis propios acentos plateados y colgantes. Tenía un gran deseo de aprender el arte de la orfebrería.

Después de la universidad, trabajé para un orfebre y platero en mi ciudad natal (The Silver Spur Steamboat, ella es increíble). Aquí, aprendí el arte del trabajo de preparación y acabado, diseño y construcción, pero finalmente la escuela de posgrado tiró de mi manga y puse mi pasatiempo de joyería en espera. ¡Avance rápido más de 10 años y aquí estoy! No puedo decir qué fue lo que me trajo de vuelta a mis joyas, pero el momento no podría haber sido mejor. Tuve la suerte de ser asesorado por otro platero a través de clases nocturnas y no he mirado hacia atrás desde entonces. Mis habilidades continúan mejorando, pero también lo hace mi amor por el proceso creativo y la joyería artesanal.

Actualmente vivo en una pequeña propiedad con mi esposo, nuestro hijo de dos años y nuestra familia de cuatro patas. Dejé mi "trabajo real" para quedarme en casa con nuestro pequeño y trabajar en mi tienda unas horas a la semana. ROAM Silver is inspired by the urge to roam - wanderlust. The places you see. The people you meet. Most importantly, the treasures you find. Handcrafted from sterling silver and gemstones, predominately turquoise, these one-of-a-kind pieces are inspired by the western lifestyle and an adventurous spirit.

I grew up in Steamboat Springs, CO on a ranch outside of town. My turquoise obsession began while I was in college. I began making jewelry and selling it for some additional income. I spent many weekends at farmer's markets, trade shows, doing my best to push my work. All the while I wished I could add my own silver accents and pendants. I had a great desire to learn the art of silversmithing.

After college, I worked for a gold and silversmith in my hometown (The Silver Spur Steamboat - she is awesome). Here, I learned the art of prep and finish work, design and construction, but eventually graduate school tugged at my sleeve and I put my jewelry hobby on hold. Fast forward more than 10 years and here I am! I can't say what it was that brought me back to my jewelry, but the timing could not have been better. I was lucky enough to be mentored by another silversmith through evening classes and I haven't looked back since. My skills continue to improve, but so does my love of the creative process and handcrafted jewelry.

I currently live on a small property with my husband, our two-year old son and our four-legged family. I quit my "real job" to stay at home with our little guy and work in my shop a few hours a week.
