Where do my patterns and creations come from?? They come from my love of, and long history with, sewing, designing and clothing construction - combined with my obsessive need to be creative and the love of making simple, classic clothing for my children.
No fuss, no frills - just simply, stylish, classic lines that are clean and uncluttered, allowing the beauty of the wearer and the fabric shine through.

Growing up, our house was filled with industrial sewing machines, huge cutting tables, massive rolls of fabric and beautiful designs; and patterns were always drafted and graded in-house by us - it was an important skill that was taught in tandem with professional tailoring techniques.
My parents are both {still} clothing manufacturers....so you could say sewing, patterns and clothing design is in my blood. My mum used to sew in my bedroom or I guess you could say I used to sleep in her studio! I learned how to sew many, many (many!) years ago, by sitting on the sewing table and watching my mum fly through piles of clothes. One minute they were random jigsaw pieces, the next beautiful garments!
When I grew and made my own home, a studio of my own became essential. However, it has only been in the last 3 years (since moving into our current home) that I have really found my oasis, my true center, my beautiful cave, my studio. It is still a work in progress, but I love it. It is MINE!

I have developed many basic pattern blocks over the years and use these to develop new patterns. My body forms (or my children if they will stand still long enough!) have fabric draped and cut and pinned and stitched to them, until I get the look I want, then it is just a matter of developing a pattern.
I sew everyday. I sketch and cut and dream everyday. Designs and twinkling beginnings of designs wake me in the early hours of the morning. I have finally found my true home.
I find inspiration in the most mundane of everyday events and surroundings.
