Crochet is my thing. I love all things yarn and I am never happier than when I have a hook in my hands. After my second child, a girl, was born in 2008 I made her a few sweet little hats. Doilies and lace were really more my thing, but my baby girl needed something special. A few moms at a local playgroup asked if I could make hats for their children, and a few months later Rachel's Closet was born.

Over the years the business has grown and changed and taken on a life of it's own. From making simple sun hats and headbands we now offer a full range of character hats, winter hats, themed hats, costumes, newsboys, summer hats and bridal headbands and even a few toys.

The thing that invigorates me the most is the creative side of the business. I am always looking for new ideas, new styles, new colour combinations. Many of my best hats have been designed by you, my customers. Almost all my work is custom ordered and you all come up with some amazing ideas!

I love it when you design your own hats and people are always welcome to ask me to change things, add things, specify colours, etc. The world of yarn is your oyster.

Beyond the digital world of Etsy, I also sell locally Paris, Ontario though With Whimsy Baby Boutique and support several non-profit organizations through donations for silent auctions and fund raisers.

Rachel's Closet has grown from a hobby that I did in my spare time into a thriving enterprise that keeps my creative side alive and well and challenges me to grow and try new things! I love it! And I hope to be hooking wonderful things for you all for a very long time!
