How I got started
My mom taught me to crochet when I was about 9 years old. At the time I was determined to make a blanket for my baby cousin, but I never finished it. Fast forward 10 years. I was 19 and remembered that I used to know how to crochet, so I went to a craft store and bought supplies. It was hard to remember all the steps but I eventually re-taught myself and started making things! I never learned how to read patterns but would just wing it and hopes my crocheting would turn into something beautiful. I started selling my items when I was out of work and made a little business out of it with my best friend. Almost 4 years ago I went on maternity leave with my first child and really started to perfect crocheting and learning new techniques by watching YouTube videos. I taught myself to use a sewing machine as well and decided to try macrame. I was Instantly addicted to making plant hangers. I felt like macrame came naturally to me since I already had experience manipulating fibers to create some amazing things.
