About

My pieces reflect my love for literature, fashion, history, quietude, and exploring the umwelt of non-human animals.

As a tadpole, I was unschooled in the woods and fields of Fairfield, Iowa spending my days making art and associating with the other animals. My artist parents introduced me to many classical art techniques and showed me how to replicate what the eye sees. I attended Interlochen Arts Academy for formal art training, learned traditional Eastern art techniques at Naropa University, and worked in a verre églomisé studio in Manhattan where I was trained in glass gilding, reverse painting, and airbrushing. I make artwork in a wide variety of traditional mediums, wishing to play a role in keeping these methods alive. I specialize in needle felting and verre églomisé. My pieces reflect my love for literature, fashion, history, quietude, and exploring the umwelt of non-human animals.

In college I was looking for a way to display my artwork that was piling up, but I was too busy to be applying to galleries and hanging shows. I discovered etsy at this time and was so excited by all the amazing artistic shops in it. I created my own shop and have been so thankful for it ever since. Here I have found fellow artists who use traditional techniques and we can recognize and appreciate the many hours of work put into each other's creations. I love etsy because it allows me to easily show and sell my work worldwide and be a part of a large community of artists and collectors.
