Love this hair fork! I originally purchased the 5" version, which was too long for my hair. I was able to exchange it for the 4" with no problem. It holds my hair (mid-back length) nicely without giving the ponytail soreness. It's lighter than I expected and so well made. Hi! My name is Ashley Rae and I am Raebird. I am a classically trained Graphic Designer turned metalsmith.

For thousands of years jewelry has been important in many tribes and cultures. When I wear a favorite piece of jewelry I feel more powerful and grounded, or perhaps I feel the energy of my relative that wore it once before. As an artisan I create jewelry that will last a lifetime and generations to come.

My love for authentic, handmade pieces started at a young age. My designs now days still reflect my love of ancient times, simplicity, and handmade construction. Every piece I create is made with love and an imagination. I find beauty in the patina left behind on the metal from the flame and the nicks and dents from my tools. It shows it was handcrafted. It has a past, a present, and a future.

Care instructions

All of the brass, bronze, and silver will naturally tarnish with time and conditions. Wet locations, hairspray and lotions will accelerate the process. Storing the item in the muslin bag will protect and slow the process. The luster can easily be restored with a jewelry polish cloth or any jewelry polish approved for brass, bronze, and silver.

Most of the leather is conditioned with a wax. With time leather will age, especially on bracelets. This is the beauty of leather.
