The Details and Construction of Cloth Menstrual Pads:
If you haven’t tried washable menstrual pads, you’ve gotta try em....and for you who are squeemish about the whole idea of washing cloth pads, all you have to do is throw them in a soaker bucket and let them soak until you can throw them in the washing machine! They're great for preppers, emergency kits and the eco-friendly people out there!
I have 9 colors and 6 different sizes!
I was concerned about leakage when I first started making cloth pads. I made a lot of interesting styles and experimented with different fabrics. To make a quality, thin, waterproof pad, you definately need quality PUL on the underneath side.
Since April 21, 2016, I have added Zorb as one of my inner layers. 1 layer of Zorb = 4 layers of flannel. I still add flannel in my extra heavy pads, including the heavy and overnight pads. Rag Pads are extremely thin and super absorbent with Zorb adding extra protection for the heaviest bleeders and bed wetters.
Yes, all of the pads have the PUL on the underneath side, and I use the strong, 2ml thick PUL made by Babyville. It is the best PUL laminate fabric that I have found. Other cloth pads use the cheap 1ml PUL fabric.
Each pad also has inner layers sewn to the top flannel layer making a very absorbent pad. I have found flannel to be the best breathable top fabric, making each pad super soft and comfortable. The larger the size, the more inner layers there are. Example, the overnight size is thicker than the pantiliner size, similar to regular disposable pads. Each pad is also wide enough, especially on the back side, which is where leakage usually occurs.
If you are a heavy bleeder, or have a heavy day, I would recommend using the 2X Extra Thick Overnight Pads for the night and the 2X Extra Thick Heavy Pads for the day.
What are the pads made from?
Each pad is made with natural, chemical free material including 100% cotton flannel on the upper side, hidden layers have Zorb, 100% cotton and polyester fleece with 100% PUL on the underneath side. Zorb is a blend of cellulosic fibers from cotton, tencel, bamboo and polyester nylon.
All Rag Pads are 100% vegan and do not contain any wool, silk or animal products.
Zorb is the leading industry brand of super absorbent fabrics. They can trap moisture & absorb 10x it's weight in moisture in 0.5 seconds; 20x faster than cotton, bamboo or hemp knits.
All fabrics are very breathable, yet super waterproof and absorbent.

PUL Fabric is CPSIA Compliant and Does Not contain:
•Does not contain lead or heavy metals
•Does not contain BPA
•Does not contain phthalates
•Does not contain PVCs, diisocynates, chlorine, or migratable plasticizers
•Does not contain latex
PULFabric is USP class VI, the highest level of safety for skin contact and the safest choice for medical devices. PUL Fabric passes flammability testing and is considered Class 1 Normal Flammability.

I also enjoy making reusable items such as washable paper towels, toilet paper, reusable female napkins and bags.
Be sure to check out my cool, easy to get to cell phone belt holder. I made these first for my husband who is a construction worker where keeping his phone in his pocket was a disaster!
