My love for books began as a girl who dressed up as Mother Goose; now I’m a reading teacher, mother, artist - all because of my love for books.
I cannot remember a time without being able to read. As a little girl I would dress up as Mother Goose and fly to all willing (or unwilling) participants to whom I would read a rhyme. I am sure that love played a major role in my decision to become an English/Language Arts teacher, a curriculum and instruction master, and finally in my decision to pursue my Reading Specialist degree. Reading takes up a significant portion of my day as a mother. And I am positive that reading has affected every aspect of my life as a Christian, wife, mother, teacher and all artistic pursuits. This business endeavor began the Christmas of 2016 because I was working part time at a library who needed a wreath for a town business competition. It just seemed appropriate to use those books in the recycling pile to create this wreath. Well, the wreath won! So I made more to sell as a fundraiser where cuts had been made. Since that was successful I began to wonder how far I could take this. And voila! Here I am, all because words inspire me. And then it evolved even more as I began recycling more and more books. I know I can make a difference in this world. Although my recycling efforts are small, I know that if I want to make a difference it begins with me - so all my materials are either secondhand or from a recycling bin. I truly believe our Creator created us to relate to Him, to others and to His creation - I want to do those things well. My small business exists for those reasons: my love for reading, my personal efforts to relate to God’s creation well, and to give Jesus Christ, my Savior, the honor and glory for it. The more that I read, the more I create. And I truly hope that what I create also inspires you.
