Welcome from Northern California!
After living in New England most of our lives, about 30 years ago my husband and I decided to live in a place we WANTED to live in, not just COULD live in. We left our corporate jobs, sold most of our belongings, jumped in our Civic Hatchback, and drove around the country - looking for a place to live. We camped out of our car and hiked state and national parks. We drove down the east coast, across the south, and all the way up the west coast to Canada. After three months, we ended up in Northern California - and never looked back.
While new to Etsy, we are not new to online selling. We began an eBay store soon after we arrived on the West Coast in the mid 1990s. And - as most paths diverge - that particular one led us to our own online retail store, selling inflatable kayaks worldwide.
We had 20 years of great fun, a wonderful learning experience with a nifty niche business, fabulous customers. Then the pandemic hit - and our business doubled overnight. We decided "it was time" for someone with a greater vision and drive and sold our online business AirKayaks, to a perfect partner in early 2021.
Which brings us to today.
As I now have time, I've returned to many of the things I did back in New England, which was finding things that I thought were interesting, and fabric printing.
Thus I have two new Etsy shops - Reclaimed Curios (what I find that others may be able to use) and Transformed Textiles (what I create). And just like before, the paths may diverge.
I thank you for taking the time to visit the shops. And yes, the picture of Mt. Konocti in some of the listings was taken from our deck. I am truly fortunate to have such a wonderful backdrop on a daily basis.
