5 out of 5 starsThe tiles are as pictured and do need to be separated from the plastic. A nice sharp pare of wire cutters or scissors will separate them nicely. There are several blank tiles that could be used to make up missing tiles. I don't have tile boards yet so couldn't set up a traditional game, but did want to at least show what they would look like. They are very cute and a nice addition to the dollhouse game night.
