After a friend taught me how to hook my first rug I knew one day I'd be in business. Ten years later here I am designing patterns and teaching rug hooking classes in my home studio. I sell paper patterns for fellow rug hookers to use to hook rugs of their own. I like simple primitive designs and find they are popular with others as well. I have a background as an antiques dealer and a love of primitive decor in my home. Most of the time you can find my rugs displayed as art on my walls or gracing an old primitive work table in the studio. Hooked rugs today are considered folk art. The technique of pulling wool strips through a linen fabric backing using a hook and simple frame creates sturdy rugs that can be used on the floor as well. Each day spent in my studio creating and designing strengthens my love of this fine craft and deepens my appreciation for all that goes into each and every rug.
