Red Robyn Crafts was borne out of my desire to create felt books for my kids, Thomas and Isabelle. A life-long crafter, I’m always on the hunt for a new project and I stumbled upon an amazing (and seriously addictive!) new hobby when I discovered the world of felt books. At night, I would sit and create pages to suit their current interests and skills, and in the morning they would awake to find the latest page inserted in their soft-covered books. I always found that they enjoyed the interactive pages best, and I revelled in the challenge to make aeroplanes fly, cars race about a page, flowers grow, trucks lift heavy loads, and crocodiles brush their teeth, all through the medium of felt and a hot glue gun!
Whenever we were out and about, the kids would entertain themselves with their latest pages and my friends would ask me where I bought the book. It gradually dawned on me that perhaps others would benefit from my patterns so that they could create these mini works of art for their kids too! And so, after countless hours of designing, pattern making, stitching, gluing, planning, photographing and instruction writing, the first few patterns were developed.
My intention is to create a series of felt book collections, beginning with the Nursery Rhyme Collection. Every pattern will be designed to be either stitched or glued, they will involve some level of interactivity to help develop fine-motor skills and hand-eye coordination, and they'll be fun to make and play with.
I hope you enjoy creating these felt book pages as much as I've enjoyed creating the patterns.
Happy crafting!

5 out of 5 starsEasy download. Instructions are very well written and cover two ways of assembly, a sewn application and a glued application. I love the idea of the spider descending on a zipper, very clever!

5 out of 5 starsI love that this is an instant download. If you do all your patterns that way, I'll be right ready to start one if I keep the felt and Sticky Solvy supply up. Can't wait to see what other series you have in store.

5 out of 5 starsI think Humpty Dumpty will be No 2 that I make up. Robyn I love the clever way you have put the wall together - makes a jigsaw of it and will make my little grandson think while he plays with it. BTW, how did you get onto Sticky Solvy - it is fantastic! I wish it had been around when I was a young mum.

Frequently asked questions
Can I ask you questions prior to purchasing a pattern?
YES! Please do ask any questions you'd like clarified before you make any purchases. I'd hate for you to purchase and download a file you don't want, so please ask first then purchase.
I'm looking for a specific pattern but I can't see it here. Do you custom make patterns?
I know the feeling! I have a million pattern ideas floating about in my head that I'd love to have completed! In general, I can't make custom patterns (or I'd never finish the collections I've already started), but if you have an idea that you'd like me to work on, please send it to me and I just might incorporate it into one of the collections :)
I've spotted a cheeky little mistake in one of your patterns. Would you like to know about it?
Yes! Please email me if you spot any mistakes or unclear instructions. I've read the instructions countless times, but mistakes always slip through (especially on the 1am read-throughs!)
I've purchased one of your patterns and now I'd like to pass a copy (digital or hard copy) along to my friends. Are you cool with this?
No, I'm not! I wasn't lying about those 1am read-throughs. Every single pattern takes weeks of work with the pattern design, stitching, gluing, instruction writing, re-stitching, photography, more re-stitching, videography, and a final re-stitching for good luck. I love creating them and sharing them with a wider audience, but please respect the work that has been put into them and each pay for your own patterns.
I'd like to use your patterns to make and sell felt books. Are you cool with this?
Yes! If you are a small-scale, crafty soul who likes to sell handmade items at a local market, you are most welcome to use my patterns, but I do ask that you credit me (Red Robyn Crafts) on the tag/packaging.
