Healing Plant Medicine Made with Love
Hello! My name is Liz Earnhart and I am an herbalist and registered nurse from Portland, Oregon. My company RED TURTLE AND THE PLANT SPIRITS was started in late 2014 and is the coming together of a life long love affair with plants and a 34 year career as a healer.
I love communing with the plants and bringing their medicine back to the people. Plants really do want to help us in more ways than we realize. And they want us to help them since we are all part of an interdependent whole. I love the plants and they love me. I talk to them, sing with them and pray with them. Call me crazy, but the medicine that arises from this relationship is potent and alive.
I am committed to creating medicine that is vibrant and alive with the spirits of the plants, which is why I am picky about the quality of the herbs I use. I obtain many of herbs by growing them organically in my garden or harvesting them in a sustainable manner from the mountains and meadows near my Portland, Oregon home. I grow and harvest all plants and prepare all medicine in a prayerful and mindful manner. When harvesting in the wild, plants are always approached with a respectful request and a tobacco or water offering. I believe that in this way good relations are built and maintained between myself and the plants. This translates into a more powerful medicine and is my small contribution to the healing of the rift between human and Earth.
If I find myself needing to buy an herb I only purchase certified organic herbs from reliable sources. I use only 100% organic 190 proof cane alcohol in the tincturing process.
