Happy to Finally Share Our Love for Woodworking
I have a childhood memory of "working" in my paternal grandfather's wood shop. In his shop, I would admire his framed decoupage cartoon of a moose looking at a hunter cleaning his disassembled rifle. This piece of "art" is displayed in my shop today. My maternal grandfather was a part-time carpenter, and my father was a practical woodworker. Saw dust is in my veins.
When our kids were little, I built furniture and reproduction cabinets on the side and as a part-time business and hobby. Most of the furniture in our home today was built and finished by Lori and me. When Lori and I had our day jobs in the fast-paced corporate world, we always dreamed of having our own business as full-time woodworkers. In the meantime, we've been gaining both tools and experience and are finally embarking on this dream.
We love everything about woodworking and the natural beauty of wood, along with the artistry, design, and finish work involved in the wood craft. I once came across a piece of cherry that had a grain and shimmer so beautiful I saved it for over fifteen years until I found the right project for it. It now is the face of the center drawer of my youngest daughter’s Queen Anne desk, which Lori and I designed and built.
I look forward to creating projects that share our love for wood with others.
