The Heart Behind Redbone Wood Work's
For many years, I worked in a job that was steady and familiar, but I always felt the pull to create something with my own two hands. After leaving that chapter of my life behind, I finally had the chance to dive into a passion I had been curious about for a long time—woodworking.
It started simple: experimenting with building table sets and learning how different types of wood could be shaped, joined, and finished. Over time, that curiosity grew into something deeper, and I found myself drawn to the art of turning wood on a lathe. There’s something incredibly rewarding about taking a rough, natural piece of wood and slowly revealing the beauty hidden inside it. Each bowl I make feels like its own little discovery, with the grain, color, and texture guiding the final design.
As my shop began to take shape, I knew exactly what I wanted to call it. My three redbone coonhounds have been with me through thick and thin—they’re more than just pets, they’re family. Naming my business Redbone Wood Works is my way of honoring them and keeping a piece of their spirit in every creation. Just as they bring loyalty, joy, and energy into my life, I hope my work brings warmth and meaning into the homes of others.
Every piece I create is made with patience, care, and a touch of creativity. I often combine natural woods with resin, colors, and glow accents to give each item a unique personality. No two pieces are ever alike, and that’s what makes them special—each bowl, table, or decorative item carries its own story, just like the wood it was made from.
