Saving Small Electricals From Landfill
Our business started in 2020 when my son needed a new X Box controller. Instead of buying a new one he bought a broken one and fixed it. We realised that there was an immense amount of broken gaming consoles and accessories that with a bit of skill could be brought back to life so we decided to specialise initially in X Box console and controller repairs. Over time we noticed that, generally, many items were just broken physically rather than electrically. Plastic parts not designed for longevity would fail. A prime example of this is audio headphones. Using our in house CAD skills along with 3D printing and plastic moulding techniques we have developed what we consider to be best in class replacement headphone parts for high quality headphones such as those produced by Beyerdynamic. In parallel we have extended our skills to include the full refurbishment of certain Pure DAB radios which involves taking off the nasty degraded material and re-covering the radio with a higher quality replacement giving these radios another lease of life.
We regularly volunteer at our local Repair Cafe. It's a great community event and frequently presents us with items that challenge and allow us to expand our knowledge.
Historically we have been based on Ebay (redstonrepairs) where we have established ourselves as a trusted seller with excellent feedback but felt that maybe some of our items might be better placed on Etsy so have recently started a presence here.
