Uniquely Repurposed Metal Art
Mark is a refreshing, metal artist whose creativity has no limits. His previous career consisted of being a plumber & an electrician who had been in the construction industry for many years. He moved to his country home outside of Springfield, Missouri area in 2013 which allow him more time to do what he truly enjoys, creating his Art!
Mark always had an interest in working with metals. An important part of his creative process is the usage of recycled metals by repurposing and transforming them into new, inspiring works of art. He is a uniquely industrial & eclectic artist.
Each piece is made from his heart, and is inspired by his metaphysical lifestyle. Copper is his main forte in which he cuts, shapes, and manipulates to achieve the image that is in his mind. His artwork often consists of multiple mediums which are grouped around specific meanings.
When I first interviewed Mark, I asked him what he sees in his mind when he creates, and he told me, “in the beginning sometimes nothing, it just happens and I am awed by the mystery of how the creation occurs.” His mind reveals ideas that evolve into eclectic, edgy designs that appeal to all.
Music is another source of his inspiration. Some piece are influenced by a song which has lyrics that invoke an emotional reaction in his receptive mind. The intricate annealing, forming and brazing of materials expose this emotional connection. Mark's art evolves metaphorically in his imagination which then comes to fruition.
He creates with a deep passion that some may not see, but you will hear it, and come to understand it, as he explains the interesting stories and emotional meanings of his art. His designs speak for themselves and speak to the viewer. There isn't a wrong or a right message. Each person will take something a bit different from the same piece of art and he is excited about that.
Mark's artwork can be found all over the world. He has been featured in numerous websites, magazines, newspaper articles and much more ... He has creations in over 57 different countries, a true World artist. Perfect imperfections make his art unique, exotic and daringly innovative.
