Let me introduce myself :)
My name is Allie. I am a mother of 4, three boys and a girl.

Being a stay at home mom, I use my shop to de-stress and use my "me time" to do something I really enjoy and can share with others :)

My shop started after my brother had a peacock themed wedding. After the wedding, the newly wed couple had hundreds and hundreds of peacock feathers and nothing to do with them! So, they gave them to me and I decided to find something to do with them that would show off how beautiful peacock feathers really are! The first few hair clips I gave to my sister-in-law, who encouraged me to take my ideas further. After hearing about etsy from a friend, my shop just took off from there! I worked with peacock feathers for a few years before branching out into other mediums.

My dresses are inspired by my daughter. There was a period of a few months when my husband was breaking the right elbow of his dress shirts. At least once week he would have a nice dress shirt ruined just in the right elbow (think desk job, leaning on his elbow to talk on the phone). I tucked the shirts away, not wanting to just throw away such nice fabric. One day I turned one of my husbands old dress shirts into a dress. ...it was ugly, but I was learning and didn’t give up! So I did another, and another, and another. Learning each time, figuring out what worked, and soon I had a handful of my own pattern and designed. I realized that I loved transforming these shirts into dresses, past just making them for my daughter. So, my Etsy shop was reborn. After taking off nearly two years, I’m back with a new set of skills and custom items to offer.

The vast majority of my feathers are molt-collected from local free-range hobby farms. No birds are injured in the acquisition of these feathers.

My ready to ship toddler dresses are often made from upcycled men’s dress shirts. I do take care in choosing the shirts to ensure they are clean and safe. Occasionally I’ll find a good sale on new, never worn shirts. Please see the listing description for “made from all new material” if you prefer a dress made from all new.
