How vintage can change your life
My love for vintage comes from my parents, well let's say it was introduced into my life by my parents. As a child my mother would bring me with her to yard sales and flea markets, estate sales and the Goodwill. I would never complain because i always seem to find something i liked and even as a child the idea of being able to touch and buy something that used to belong to someone else was fun like an adventure.
Back then people would get the impression that if you were buying things at yard sales and thrift stores you were doing it because you were poor. Anyone who buys vintage or who has an appreciation for it knows that these items were usually made in the country you lived in or bought from a neighboring country which in my case would be the United States, these items were not mass produced and they had a durable quality that made them last, so we could keep passing these treasures on.
We live in a throw away society now ,which brings me to one of the more important reasons why I love and only try to buy vintage or previously loved items. We can do our part for the planet and look great while we're at it!
