¡Tener una tienda en línea de Etsy es un desafío interesante para mí porque preferiría crear y coser que jugar con computadoras y gadgets! Soy un artista de baja tecnología al que le encanta hacer las cosas a la antigua usanza. Incluso mis máquinas de coser son Pfaffs no computarizados que adoro como familia.
He diseñado y/o hecho innumerables disfraces para el escenario, pero hoy en día disfruto de tener un taller en mi casa donde tengo la libertad de crear lo que quiero cada vez que la inspiración golpea sin fechas límite o ensayos generales. A veces, veo una película y digo "podría hacer ese vestido" y luego me encuentro haciendo precisamente eso. Dado que personalmente no puedo usar todo lo que me inspira hacer, ¿por qué no una tienda en el ciberespacio? RetroSewCo nació en Etsy... Ojalá fuera posible recrear todos los disfraces de cosplay que mis clientes han solicitado, ¡pero el tiempo no es mi amigo! Siempre estoy feliz de responder convos y consultas.
Having an online Etsy shop is an interesting challenge for me because I would much rather be creating and sewing than fiddling with computers and gadgets! I'm a low-tech artist who loves doing things the old-fashioned way. Even my sewing machines are non-computerized Pfaffs that I adore like family.
I've designed and/or made countless costumes for the stage, but nowadays I enjoy having a workshop in my home where I have the freedom to create what I want whenever inspiration strikes with no deadlines or dress rehearsals! Sometimes, I'll see a movie and say "I could make that dress" then find myself doing just that. Since I can't personally wear everything I'm inspired to make, why not a cyberspace storefront? RetroSewCo was born on Etsy... I wish it was possible to re-create every cosplay costume my customers have requested, but time isn't my friend! I'm always happy to answer convos and inquiries.
