I have changed the shop name a few times. I have changed what I sell a few times. I have changed a few times. Isn't that what life is all about? Change. It's a good thing.

I started this shop when I was 18 years old, just barely not a kid anymore. Now, I may be a kid at heart, but I've traveled quite a journey of self discovery. I have found myself and thus discovered one of my biggest passions in life: vintage clothing and upcycling the old to make it new.

But this is not any ordinary vintage and upcycled clothing: it's Retro Weird by Marie. I put my name on it because I truly believe in it. Fashion rules? What rules!? I don't live by any of them and neither should you. If it doesn't make me happy, I'm not going to wear it and I'm not going take it off because someone else doesn't like it. Neither should you.

Be true to yourself. Do what makes you happy. I hope I can help you with achieving that.

I taught myself to sew at 4 years old by sewing my mother's curtains to our couch. I have always had a desire to create from a very young age, but had no income which lead me to upcycling with things I could find around our house.
