About Jacqui and the moment
My interest in vintage decor is inspired by cherished memories of my childhood with my mom in South Africa, pieces and every piece my mom and I choose together tells a story. Our home was always filled with carefully curated treasures, and I had a storybook bedroom I felt like it was a magical escape, surrounded by charming details that sparked my imagination. Today, and together, we explore markets and antique shops, immersing ourselves in the craftsmanship and charm of bygone eras. This tradition continues today as my mom and I still spend time searching for treasures, sharing moments of joy and discovery that keep-those special times alive. We revel in the discovery as well as the journey throught nostalgia of a time gone by. But these days you might see my store populated by books more than antique decor. This showcases my love for books that are special, in some case, no longer in print or very rare. My husband Larry who is an avid book aficionado who teaches and guides me on our book hunting expeditions and its so so exciting and special when we find one of these treasures, like a first edition Hemingway or signed book by Obama, or something that is so special and feels good to read. We get the greatest pleasure from sharing with our community. Every book has been handpicked by us and at least one of us has read every book. We want you to love books as we do.
