Revolução. Alguns ouvem essa palavra, e ela traz à mente imagens destrutivas - multidões de rostos raivosos, efígies penduradas, incêndios queimando nas ruas, pedras quebrando janelas.
Mas as revoluções são mais do que simplesmente derrubar o velho; eles são sobre construir algo novo, atingindo em uma nova direção, capacitando os descapacitados. Trata-se de deixar um emprego seguro e seguro com uma pensão e benefícios, a fim de enfrentar algo completamente diferente - tornar-se autônomo e auto-governado enquanto constrói uma nova e independente visão com indivíduos com mentes semelhantes.
Em 2013, a Blazer Arts experimentou sua própria revolução. O negócio ganhou vida pela primeira vez em 2006. Após três anos de sucesso no circuito de mostra de arte, seguido por mais três no Etsy com o desenvolvimento de quatro lojas separadas: Blazer Arts, Blazer Studios, Happily Ever After e Sprouts by Blazer Arts; uma quinta loja foi adicionada à família Blazer Arts: The Revolution.
Junto com essa nova loja, surgiram caras novas, novos colaboradores. No outono de 2013, meu cunhado abandonou uma carreira de 15 anos, trabalhando em uma siderúrgica, para se juntar às nossas fileiras. Suas habilidades com metalurgia rapidamente traduzidas de aço em grande escala para nossos metais preciosos de pequena escala. Ele é natural. Minha sogra, uma professora aposentada do jardim de infância, também se juntou a nós meio período como nosso controle de qualidade e "empacotador e batedor". (Ela veio com seu próprio título.)
No verão de 2014, depois de dez anos ensinando cursos de composição universitária, entrei oficialmente para a Blazer Arts, embora eu tenha sido junto para o passeio desde o início. Embora isso me desse muito orgulho para ajudar os alunos a desenvolver e criar sua própria voz na escrita acadêmica, dado o crescimento contínuo e estabilidade do nosso negócio, eu não podia mais ficar à margem. Agora a Blazer Arts é realmente um negócio de família. Desde então, adicionamos uma sexta loja à Blazer Arts Family: In My Life by Blazer Arts. Foi inaugurado em 28 de abril de 2015, nosso 14º aniversário de casamento.

Revolution. Some hear this word, and it brings to mind destructive images--mobs of angry faces, effigies strung up, fires burning in the streets, rocks smashing windows.
But revolutions are about more than simply tearing down the old; they're about building something new, striking out in a new direction, empowering the disempowered. They’re about leaving a safe and secure job with a pension and benefits in order to tackle something completely different--becoming self-employed and self-governed while building a new and independently-driven vision with like-minded individuals.
In 2013, Blazer Arts experienced its own revolution. The business first came to life in 2006. After three years of success on the art show circuit followed by three more on Etsy with the development of four separate shops: Blazer Arts, Blazer Studios, Happily Ever After, and Sprouts by Blazer Arts; a fifth shop was added to the Blazer Arts family: The Revolution.
Along with this new shop, there came new faces, new collaborators. In the fall of 2013, my brother-in-law walked away from a 15 year long career, working in a steel mill, to join our ranks. His skills with metalworking quickly translated from large scale steel to our small scale precious metals. He’s a natural. My mother-in-law, a retired kindergarten teacher, also joined us part time as our quality control and “packer and slapper.” (She came up with her own title.)
In the summer of 2014, after ten years of teaching college composition courses, I officially joined Blazer Arts, though I’ve been along for the ride from the start. While it gave me great pride to help students develop and craft their own voice in academic writing, given the ongoing growth and stability of our business, I could no longer stand on the sidelines. Now Blazer Arts is truly a family business. We have since added a sixth shop to the Blazer Arts Family: In My Life by Blazer Arts. It opened on April 28th, 2015--our 14th wedding anniversary.
