Reducing our carbon footprint and helping our planet are things I strive for. Buying one secondhand item instead of new can save 8.41 pounds of CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent). A single secondhand garment purchase saves nearly 194 gallons of water compared to a new one, also preventing massive water waste from textile production. Resale saves significant energy; buying secondhand can save over 60 kWh of energy per item. Less demand for new clothes means less water, energy, and raw materials (like cotton) are used, which is crucial - it takes 2,700 liters of water to produce one t-shirt. Together, we ARE making a difference!
