Fabric Bug
I have been sewing for about 42 years now. My first large purchase at 17 was a Husqvarna sewing machine. My Mum taught me how to make my own clothes. From there I got into making soft toys then patchwork quilts.
Right now my interest or obsession (hubby's term) is making mug rugs resembling the retro caravan and motorhome, bags, totes or anything out of fabric.
We built our house on a rural property east of Perth and included a craft room for me and a study for him and games room for the boys. So I have my own little haven filled with fabrics, sewing table, work bench and all sorts of sewing paraphernalia.
I also love to garden, once upon a time I was a horticulturalist-before kids.
We also have two dogs. Hank the big guy outside and Pipi the little maltese shitzu who keeps me company while I'm creating!
One of the best things about craft making on Etsy is being able to sell to anyone all around the world and receive comments like this from Thea - a wonderful customer from the Netherlands.
"Thank you! My purple blouse is right this moment smiling at me and my new wallet from Australia.
Years ago I would never have believed that at 71 years old I would buy a beautiful wallet made by someone in the hills of Australia. And without moving an inch from my Dutch city apartment!
It’s a wonderful world ... sometimes."
